
Thoughts On Innovation – Susan Bowen
With over 20 years’ experience in the technology industry, Susan understands the importance of
transformational leadership to stay at the forefront of customer needs and expectations. Prior to taking
on global leadership at Aptum (formerly Cogeco Peer 1), Susan was Vice President and General Manager
of Cogeco Peer 1, EMEA, where she spearheaded strategic direction. Susan has also held the role of
Chief of Staff UK & Ireland at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) following her tenure of over 16 years at
HP UK Ltd. Susan has a post-graduate certificate in Education from the University of Greenwich, a
Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University, and a Bachelor of
Science, Business Information Systems from the University of Portsmouth. Susan is also a Board member
and Non-Executive Director for Versarien PLC and a Non-Executive Director and Trustee for JISC.
What is your definition of “innovation”?
Businesses today are faced with rapidly expanding volumes of information and data is becoming an integral part of their infrastructure. We believe technology will help harness the power of data to enable better decision-making, risk evaluation and customer engagement. Innovation is about being able to adapt to meet the expectations of your customers, partners, employees and the market in general.
